Graduate a semester late?

Hi CC,
Here is my problem. I can technically graduate next semester, but I'd rather extend by a semester by taking CSE381(Advanced Game programming)and a few other delicious electives that our CSE* department offers. However, part of me tells me that once I get hired, I can learn what is taught in those classes on my own. However, I've never had the motivation to do so.

I guess is it worth it to delay your graduation by a semester, provided that I will take these 4 electives:

CSE409
CSE381
CSE408
CSE328

It may depend on whether you have a desirable job offer starting at your earlier graduation date versus your later graduation date.

If you have a job lined up, I would say take the job and graduate sooner. For a fresh grad, getting your foot in the door is most important thing, and with this economy, it’s better to go with the sure thing if it’s there. Otherwise, take your time, go at your right pace and enjoy your last semester of college! If you don’t plan on going to grad school, take your time and REALLY enjoy it.
