Graduate Composer interview at Juilliard

Hi,

I have just been invited to interview at Juilliard for the MM in composition. Does anyone have any experience with this? If not, have you heard anything?

I have searched on the forum and there are a couple of mentions of how difficult and intense it is, but not much else.

Thanks in advance for any help!

ClarinetComposer

I should also ask if anyone knows what kinds of questions will be on the 3 hour composition exam.

Thanks!

I see that this is a very old thread, but I have the same question. I just received notice from Juilliard that I’ve made it through the pre-screeing process and that there is a 3 hour composition exam (I would very much like to know what to prepare for) and 5 individual interviews with each of the professors on the composition faculty. That’s a lot of interviews… Anyone with first hand experience here willing to share information - I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
