Graduate Programs after completing pre-nursing undergad at California State Universit

Hello there, wow my first post on here. Brace yourselves, this might be a long one.

Okay, first of all, I am a Mexican American (dual citizenship) Junior High School student in California. I am 100% sure that I want to become a nurse, maybe NICU or pediatric, when I am an adult, so I have been researching IN-STATE universities that I can attend to do so. I have 4.13 GPA, 4.83 this quarter, straight A's since 6th grade, 4 on AP WORLD Exam, taking 4 APs this year, volunteer in Hospitals student vol prog...etc etc etc

Anyway, I'm sure I want to reveive my BSN (bacehlors of science in nursing), but..

1) Is it after 2 years of undergrad prenursing that you take the NCLEX and then receive your RN, then continue to grad school to receive your BSN? Is that the correct procedure?

2) I am aware that nursing is very impacted in the state of California, and I am not sure that I can get into UCLA or UCI's direct nursing program, and not sure that I want to either, might as well become a doctor, so what are the best state schools/private univ. i can attend?

3) Continuing off of question 2, if i do attend a CSU, which off only pre-nursing undergrad degrees, would i receive just my RN degree before i continue? or what would i leave with? And when I do leave, what univ could I attend to receive my BSN? I tried researching this, but I couldnt come up with any direct answer:(

I appreciate all of your help, maybe I can have a mentor on here to help me through the process, haha. Have a good day! :)

The CollegeMatchmaker search engine finds 4-year institutions in California that offer RN programs [College MatchMaker: Results](<a href=“College Search - BigFuture | College Board”>College Search - BigFuture | College Board) When you look at each of those websites, use their own search functions to check for a link to the Nursing Programs. Here is the one for CSUB [Welcome to CSUB Nursing!](<a href=“California State University, Bakersfield”>California State University, Bakersfield)

An RN is usually a three year program, and a BSN incudes about a year more. It is still undergraduate work. Graduate level work would be after your BSN.
