Graduate School Admissions: Energy Engineering

Hi, all!

I'm a senior at Penn State in Schreyer Honors College pursuing a degree in Energy Engineering. It's effectively a combined Chemical/Mechanical degree that focuses on energy systems (traditional & alternative). My GPA is 3.81/4.00, but I have not taken the GRE yet. I was wondering which universities any of you would recommend looking into. I plan on pursuing an alternative/renewable/sustainable/nuclear energy path, so that hopefully narrows it down! I'd like to either be located in California or the North East.

Any and all help is appreciated!

Have a look at MIT, UC Berkeley, Caltech, Stanford and UC Santa Barbara.

It always depends on what you are pursuing, MS or PhD, but I think with that GPA and a nearly perfect Quantitative score (>770) you’ll definitely have a chance at any of these.
