Graduate School Competitiveness and questions about NYU Graduate Program

Hey everyone,

I have been lurking these boards trying to get a handle on where to apply to graduate schools for International Relations. I have narrowed the schools that i am definitely applying to SAIS, SIPA and the Walsh School of Foreign Service. I think my stats make me competitive for these schools as i had a 3.29 overall GPA from Tulane, 4 years as an Intelligence Analyst for a political risk assessment firm and GRE scores of 700 v. 720 q. and 5.5 a. I was wondering if any of you would concur that i would be competitive for any of these schools.

Additionally i have a question about a possible safety school (want to get out of the rat race and back into school pretty bad). I was wondering if anyone here has heard of NYU's joint International Relations/International Business graduate degree and how good it is. Also would George Washington also be a good school that i can count on to get in? Any other suggestions for possible safety schools? Thanks in advance for your help.

do u mean a 3.92 or an actual 3.29?

Experience can trump a GPA like that, especially in a relevant field.

oh I didnt see the work experience stuff got caught up in the GPA stuff
