Graduate school with a low gpa for engineering

Hey Guys,

I know this question has been asked/answered a zillion times, but I just have to ask. I'm in the process of applying to graduate schools in the U.S for a masters degree in electrical engineering. I just graduated from Purdue University with a GPA of 2.98! I'm an international student on an F1 visa. I have a score of 1250 on the GRE.(verbal 470 and quantitative 780). I screwed up my last semester because I was busy applying for jobs. I got a 2.3 which pulled down my GPA. What do you guys think my chances are for getting into a university ranked less than 40? I've read a number of forums saying its hard but I want to know if its any different with my credentials?

Can somebody answer my question?? please?:)
