Graduate School?

Hellooooo

So I'm gearing up to start applying for graduate school. I haven't taken the GRE yet, but I am not sure what sort of score to be shooting for. I can prepare for the test and probably do reasonably well depending on the amount of preparation, so I have a few questions about preliminary chances and things based upon a reasonably good score.

I am currently a junior at MIT with a GPA of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale (MIT does 5.0 scale l0l.. so it hurts to convert it :().

I am pretty sure I can get good recs, and I've been busy with extracurriculars and jobs, and I can crank out a pretty good essay, so I'm not too worried here.

I would be applying to the Rice Electrical Engineering Masters program.

The GPA is a bit low... but I was hoping that the MIT deflation factor and other things might help me out.

Plus I really like Rice and Texas.

Thanks for any help/advice!

one of my roommies here applied for grad school here and got waitlisted but he has the same record you do. Rice tries not to get our alums to come back for grad schools. i think you've got a decent chance if u have lab research experience + maybe some publications along the way.

i dno how important everything else is.
