Graduate Schools with opera programs still taking applications

Help! DS did not apply to enough MM programs. He had a long list in the fall, but when it came down to actually applying, he was in a period of depression and only sent in 4 applications. We just became aware of this, and we are trying to assist in compiling a list of programs with late deadlines. For anyone else in this position, Bard (on his original list), NYU and Temple University have deadlines which have not yet passed. Do you have any other suggestions? Young Artist programs still accepting applications would also be welcome. S is a bass. We are concerned and evaluating the context of this situation as well as the immediate issue of helping him increase his options for the fall.

I believe Boston University's deadline is 1/15 - still possible but he is going to have to hustle to get everything in. I do not know how strong their graduate voice program is.

Thank you, BassDad!

Look at Rutgers...there is a fine bass-baritone on the faculty there. PM me if you want more information about logistics and facilitating contact.

operamom,

I know that the Longy School of Music in Boston is still accepting applications. The opera program actually gives students a chance to perform, something that can be rare at the larger programs. A good bass would probably get a good scholarship there.

Good luck,
