Graduate transferring, am I doing it right?

I’m in a course-only graduate program (Master of Engineering) at UIUC and I’m having a hard time. I’m considering transferring to another school.
A year ago I got multiple admissions, so is it acceptable that I make them a phone call and express my interest in enrolling in their program again, or at least ask to waive recommendation letters? I feel awkward/embarrassed to ask my undergrad professors to write a recommendation letter again. With my poor performance and lack of interaction with grad school professors, I don’t think I should ask them for ref. letters.

At the very least they will want to have your UIUC transcripts sent to them but you should make contact and find out what they expect. It may vary from school to school. My guess is that they would not want new letters so soon after the original ones.
