Graduates, how often do you check your student emails after graduating, if ever?

I guess anyone can answer if they that they would or wouldn’t check after graduating. I ask because I emailed a couple of acquaintances I knew who graduated and I wanted to keep in touch with them but I only have their student email address.

So, I’m just wondering if normally people still check it. I personally would be too lazy or wouldn’t see the point in checking it if I wasn’t expecting anything. But I hope I’m in the minority on this. Thoughts?

Part of this will be dependent upon the schools in question. Most will shut off the email at some point after graduation. Some may redirect incoming emails to an alumni.edu account or another account, others may not. I think most people will check occasionally until the shutoff date, if only to inform correspondents of a new contact email address.
