Graduating Early?!

a good decision or no? i went to a public school until 10TH grade and then got switched to a Catholic HS. i am in my junior year now at this boring Catholic HS. I have excellent grades. and am wondering what colleges actually think of a person who graduates early?!

It depends on the person. The biggest problem with graduating early is that colleges will expect the same from you and they do from those that graduate in 4 years, who have the extra year to do more stuff. And then a lot of people also bring up the maturity level of a 16-year-old versus an 18-year-old.

Personally, what I would do, is to not plan on leaving high school early, but apply to some colleges that you really want to go to, but if you don't get into any of them, you can go back to high school for the next year (or maybe take a gap year).

Think of all the memories you'll miss if you graduate early.

Senior prom, prom after-parties, the hangovers after the prom parties...

And then the senior parking lot. Isn't being able to drive to school on your own, and then parking there, worth the wait?

Sorry, but this is one of the most repetitive questions on here. Please do a quick search and you will see almost all of the answers anybody is going to give.

Etc...

Sorry. It just gets boring to read the same threads over and over and over again.

this reminds me of a dude who took AP Calc BC and Physics C his freshman year

Well you only got stuck at "boring Catholic school" for 2 years (or possibly 1). I'm stuck there for 4 :)

Anyway, I wouldn't recommend it. That's a 1 year disadvantage - in academics, extracurricular activities, maturity, and so on. Unless staying at hs an additional year would be a true hindrance to your future, don't.
