Graduating from McGill and working in the US

I was wondering whether it’s hard to find a job in the US after finishing undergraduate in McGill. What is the general view of McGill for many US companies? And whether it would be harder to go to a graduate school in the US after finishing undergraduate in McGill?

Any information or ideas are welcome.
Thank you in advance

First question: are you a US citizen?
It makes a difference if you can work in the US. If you need sponsorship then that can be a huge issue.

McGill is well known and respected at least in the northeast of the US. If you are a US citizen or permanent resident then you should be fine for finding a job in the US. If you are not a US citizen or permanent resident, then finding a job in the US would be tough even with a degree from a US university.

I know a few people who did their undergrad in Canada and then got either a master’s or a PhD or both in the US. Most did their undergrad at either McGill or Toronto.

Getting a degree from a Canadian university makes it relatively easy to get a work permit to work in Canada. Whether you can find a job will depend on what your major is and probably other factors (such as grades, internships, and if you want to work in Montreal whether you are bilingual).

My son, an American, graduated from McGill Desautels. Many US based companies interview at MGill and will forward the information to US divisions. My son landed a great job in New York City right after graduation.

If a corporate HR person hiring college grads did not know of McGill I would question whether that is the type of company I wanted to work for.

As for grad school every university adcom in the US knows of McGill and its rigor.
