I will be a Junior next year, but I have recently been entertaining the idea of graduating early. I have maintained an good GPA of 3.9, and I will complete ALL of my high-school requirements next year with the help of Dual Enrollment classes at a college. I have yet to take the SAT and ACT tests, but I will be doing so this summer. I have quite a lot of community service and EC's and will be doing a immense amount of it this summer and throughout my Junior year. I personally see no point in staying an entire year more if I will have all of my requirements. I plan to go to school out of state, preferably in the New York area for my intended major (Communications). Will graduating early prohibit me from getting into good schools? I am looking at Pace, St. John's CUNY Baruch, and Fordham, all of which aren't extremely prestigious (except for Fordham). Will it look bad on my protfolio if I graduate early? I have no problem with not graduating with the rest of my class, and I look forward to starting a career sooner than most. Is it a good idea? What are the Pro's and Con's?

Why would you want to do this? The college admission process is over. You really don’t want to be sitting on your butt the whole year. Enjoy high school.

As I will have all of my credits fulfilled next year, I really don’t see the reason to continue high-school through my senior year. Also, because of personal reasons, I don’t want to stay where I am for the rest of my high-school years. As I said, I would be applying to schools at the beginning of the 2013/2014 school year, not now.

Can you apply, and then make a decision after you see where you get in?
