graduating in June but finishing up in Summer?

I have a question about finishing up major requirements in the summer but still walking in June.

Basically, I'm in a bind with some medical issues and a really hard class. I need to drop it ASAP. It is a class that is a major requirement for graduating. If I drop it this quarter, can I take a different class in the summer (Session A 2010) and use that class to fulfill that major requirement? Can I still walk in June and graduate by summer?

Do I need to finish all of my major requirements prior to walking in June? I put on URSA that my projected graduation time is summer 2010, so I they know I need to take classes. But at first, I only needed to take classes for more units, not for my major.

I contacted my counselor but since it's a holiday, she's out of the office. I basically need an answer and a definitive one soon because I have a midterm coming up on Wednesday and I need to know if I should keep panicking or if I can drop the class and calm down.

Also, how many units can I take in each session? I know the total is 18 units but I was wondering if there was a limit to each session. I plan on taking an 8 unit class plus a 4 unit major requirement class in one session, is that possible?

you can still participate in commencement if you have to finish up a class in summer. just have to change your degree expected term on URSA.

summer session is treated as one whole block, from A -> C. no limit on individual sessions, just the whole thing.

Even if it is a major requirement course?

that may be major dependent. i just had to notify the psych dept. for mine.
