Hi..Im currently a freshman majoring in biology in stanford. Can anyone help me with this question?

Is it possible to apply in your sophomore year and get into a medical school if you are deciding to graduate in three years? How will this reduce my chance of getting in and is there anything I can do to make up for that disadvantage?

This will put you at a significant disadvantage. Significant.

I'm not sure if you'll even have enough credits for AMCAS to verify your application. The best thing for you to do would be to do 3 years of college, take a year off and do something productive, and apply in the summer after your third year.

To elaborate: all other candidates will have between 50% and 100% more coursework than you, and therefore a more established track record overall, to say nothing of in more advanced coursework. Add in the extra research and other EC's they have, and it's adding up to a major, major problem.

No..I mean if I applied to med school in my third year, and if I got in, Ill leave my PhD program unfinished after the first year and attend the med school instead. Is that an option

That means you would've needed to take the GRE and apply to grad school which apparently isn't something you even want to do. Not to mention, leaving a degree program prematurely is very bad (you will have to declare to med schools if you're in the middle of a phD or master's program). I don't understand why you would want to enter into a phD program with the intention of leaving after a year. That year could be put to much better use (working, research, volunteering, traveling, whatever).
