I have been looking into career fields and I was wondering when I should start applying for jobs because I'm not graduating with my BS degree in International Business until January of 2013. If anyone could help give me some pointers that would be great.

(My resume is polished and I've done a few job fairs and the career center...)

I would recommend starting to line up companies/industries that you are interested in by the end of this semester. Start applying in June… not too many companies are looking to hire graduates from the following year (i.e. Dec. 2012 or May 2013) in June, but you just might snatch up an interview and score points for being proactive (I actually had an interview in July, 2010, for a job that I requested to start in June, 2011).

You should get into full application mode at the beginning of your last semester. Many industries do their FT college recruiting in the fall, and while some companies set a strict start date for all of their new hires (i.e. after most people graduate in May of the following year), many companies would be able to start you in the late winter/early spring.

Once you start applying, don’t stop until you accept a written offer. :)
