<p>Hey guys,</p>
<p>So i'm pretty confused on what to do right now.</p>
<p>I'm currently interning at Viacom Corporate since September of this year (2011). In the spring of this year, I interned also at Viacom but more specifically at MTV Networks doing operations management (business internship not creative internship). by the end of the internship, i was given recommendation for a full-time position. it was just a recommendation and not an offer, but I was still a junior and i'm not really interested in back office.</p>
<p>I really like the company so I applied to work at corporate which is what I'm doing now. I'm doing a corporate finance internship. its in the same building (all of the networks' business offices are in the same building) so far its going really good and im working 3 full days.</p>
<p>but the thing is.. i want to get inside paramount pictures doing business development or film finance, which is why im interning at viacom again. but the problem was that they dont offer internships :/</p>
<p>im planning to ask my boss if i can meet with the head of business dev at paramount and just have a chat and share my passion for the industry and a job in that area.</p>
<p>now.. next semester (spring 2012) i will be taking 5 classes. and i CAN NOT intern or work at all. i actually saved up a lot and bring my own lunch everyday (which isnt enough because im losing weight and my cheek bones are visible lol..).. so money wont be a problem if i dont work.. (hopefully)</p>
<p>my goal is to land a job before i graduate. so my three questions are:</p>
<p>1) if i dont intern in the spring, will that lower my chances at getting a job with viacom?
2) how good are my chances at landing a job in business dev at paramount without having internship experience there (though ive interned in 2 areas within viacom)
3) should i even bother considering paramount? should i just focus on viacom and wait 2 years perhaps then go into paramount?</p>
<p>also guys, im an international student. so after graduation this spring, i have 1 year before my visa expires so I need an OPT and a job that would sponsor me a visa. so i really dont know whats the safest thing to do and what i can and can not do.</p>
<p>im really passionate about paramount guys. like, i know i will be extremely happy if i can get a job there because i just love movies. i want to contribute to their development in some way.</p>
