Graduating This fall. How to arrange my resume and who to use as references?

Hello.

I am graduating in December and I want to know how to set up my resume.

First off, I have done technically three internships in my field. The first one I was basically laid off, and I have one reference from a coworker there. The second I ended early for another opportunity. My supervisors were super understanding, and there were no bridges burned, but I don’t have a reference from it. I didn’t expect one since I left early.

The third I start this summer. They did a reference check, and I used three bosses from jobs unrelated in my field. Can I still use these when looking for full time positions upon gradation? Would it be better to use references from my internships?

Also, how do I address the internship I got laid off from on a resume? Or the one I left early to pursue a good opportunity? Should I leave it off? The one I left early was a Spring internship, and the dates would be Jan-May.

Thanks

Did you ask for a reference from the spring internship? It sounded like they wanted to keep you on after the internship was due to end so they must have good things to say about your work while you were there. I would leave it on your resume along with the new internship. Were you laid off of the first internship due to economic cutbacks? If so, you could also leave that on your resume and use your co-worker as a reference.
