Graduating with an Associate in Arts degree vs just transferring to a university?

Thats basically what I need help on. I will be able to transfer to a University in the spring of 2014. However I looked at how many credits I would have to get in order to graduate from my community college to get an Associate in Arts degree and I would only need 7 more credits. I have constantly thought of just going back in the fall (2015) and getting the last 7 credits and graduating then applying for a University but I think it would be a waste of time.

My advisor said it would be a good thing for me to do since this is currently my fourth year at the community college (the classes are really hard) My first year there I just took prerequisite courses so they will not transfer. I really did not start getting my transfer credits until my second year there. I am so confused on what I should do. She also said that if I were to graduate from the Community College I would get a clean slate the university would only look at my GPA. I would not have to take an SAT or the ACT. I do not know what I should do. It would make me happy to graduate from there since I have been there so long, and If it all worked out I would have 2 degrees an associates and a bachelors (from the university) should I just graduate there and then apply for the university?

Please help me with this I really like going to school I really want to better myself I just am so torn on which path I should choose...

What state are you in? Depending on if you get an AA you may be guaranteed admission to some state universities which definitely makes transfering easier. Some schools may also have agreements with your CC that depend on your getting an AA.
Overall, I think it’s good to get the AA just in case you don’t finish the 4 year degree. Even having just an AA can help you get a job or better pay rate. Also I think that it demonstrates to schools that you can finish something, even if it does take a long time.
