Finishing my business degree in a few weeks. After four years I've come to realize that I'm not crazy about the content of my major (ISOM), and even less crazy about the people around me. Not everyone, but a strong majority of people around me are money-grubbing, materialistic, selfish frauds.

I've decided I want to try to pursue something in the health care field, and am leaning toward nursing. The job opportunities are off the charts right now--I can work anywhere I want basically and make my own hours.

Anyway, I'm writing this mainly because I've done my fair share of whining in here from time to time and am actually pretty excited about something for once. But I also wanted to ask if anyone in here has experience with the business side of health care, as I might want to get into this field some day. Hopefully my business undergrad will at least help with that, right?

Yes, it will definitely help in the long run. The opportunities in nursing are endless, but good luck on getting in on the first try. Competition is stiff.

I just wanted to recommend that prior to investing time into getting your RN, you may want to work for at least a short time in a hospital setting in a position that requires patient care. Preferably in a CNA or similar position, but at least some sort of volunteer work. It will give you a better idea of what nurses actually do on a daily basis.

I only offer this advice because after a year or so of working in this type of setting I decided to change my major from nursing to business and accounting. ;)

Lol, I kind of did the same thing tbradford. I changed from pharmacy to business but fortunately I did it early when I started college so it didn't disrupt my schedule.
