Graduation Announcements

How soon before graduation are you supposed to send out the annoucements? Keep in mind this is NOT the invitation, just the announcement. Our school gets done really late (6/23) but we got our annoucements delivered today.

Our graduation is June 3rd and the parents committee has yet to finalize the announcements. We'll likely be getting them at the end of April or beginning of May and then sending them out right away.

i'm only a junior so forgive me for asking but...
doesn't every senior know when they will be graduating?

Im a Junior also but the anouncments are sent out to other people like the grandma in Texas or whatever to let them know when they are graduating, its not for the Seniors haha.

oh...
i was going to say...
lol

lol its ok I thought that when I was a freshman I was all "don't they already know that?"

Our school sends them out sometime in April, then prints the rest in May after the seniors have left for their capstone project.

we got our announcements like 3 weeks ago through Herff-Jones...I'll send them out sometime later this month...we graduate May 27th

haha....yeah i'm DEFINITELY sure of when i'm graduating.
these are basically just telling other people that it's time for a gift - I think they're pretty tacky but what can you do. If i'm paying for them I may as well send them out!

The announcements are just to send to people who generally weren't invited to the actual ceremony, more distant friends and family. It generally implies some sort of gift or card of congratulations.
