graduation/major question

must all UF Sophomores apply to a "college" in order to graduate? For example my daughter is in the pre-Nursing program...if she applies and does not get into their nursing program then what does she do? Health Science looks like a great alternative, but it appears you must apply to that program too. Each program only take like 200 students per year so where does that leave everyone who does not get into the program? I am extremely concerned!

This is a conversation she should have with an adviser. What I understand is if she doesn’t get into a selective limited program they would ask her to pick a major which does not have limited entrance number which would also correlate to the courses she has been taking like a major of biology.

She meets with the advisor this week…she was pre-med and then took chemistry…or should i say Chemistry took her!!! she does not want to continue in chemistry and to be a bio major she would be required to do so. They make it way too tuff. I myself was a biology major and one class short of a chemistry minor and I went to a private school in Ohio. My classes were no where close to being as hard as these and I received a darn good education. UF wants you to fail I believe so they can have you longer and gain more tuition money! It is absolutely crazy. They are so non caring. I am trying to stay out of this because I do not want to be a helicopter mom…If I had it my way she would be attending a private school…but she has always wanted to be a Gator.
