well, wat schools do NUS graduates go to for post grad...for MS or MBA...

I know someone who got into Stanford - MBA .. but he was part of the university scholars program

i c,but generally where do NUS graduates go...do a sizable % go to Ivy League schools etc?

I know of one who when to NTU for his masters.

I think all the ivy leagues are aware of the standard of education at NUS and give you equal preferance to say, UT Austin, Purdue etc. I think if you score well on ur GRE/GMAT, have good EC's etc, you will be able to get in anywhere you want.

i am inclined to think the same... my general feeling is that NUS graduates (especially local) are not particularly keen in doing graduate school so the statistics might not be very flattering. but i am sure for those who are interested, and did well enough in terms of grades and GRE (not so much for EC i wld think, except for maybe MBAs) probably do get into good places. after all, NUS is really quite strong in terms of course offerings, and definitely prepare well for grad school. the only thing dat one shd be concerned of is perhaps the recommendations... since interaction between students and faculty is probably minimal, well, just as it is in most research universities in US anyway.

well NUS follows not the American but rather the traditional singaporean system of education based on lecture and all.. Although it is def among a strong academic class of schools ull see but still it aint as interactive and interesting in experiance as say NTU or even any Internationally aclaimed school..

The admission stats are encouraging still i guess due to strtong tie ups with american univs and academic status.. But the placement is stronnger as in terms of jobs due to booming economy .. ppl may want to do a job for say 1 yr or so and then apply as it can do wonders to ur application also...

But overall i wud say we cant really estimate .. we shud rely on past data and hard facts.. so if anyone does have a pros list of ppl going to Univ frm NUNS for masters .. it wud be better ..

SM

yes SM,i tend to agree with you,in asia atleast its got a huge rep and the tie ups do help...
