Wynton Marsalis!

I just saw that too! Very nice !

Who?!!!
I had to google him.
I have to admit to being a little disappointed.

The Marsalis family are Jazz Royalty! ! He has won a Pulitzer Prize, actually the very first Pulitzer Prize for music! He has been awarded many Grammy awards. The Ellis Marsalis Music Center in the Musicians Village (9th Ward in New Orleans) was named after Wynton’s father. The Marsalis family has been key in the recovery of New Orleans and keeping the music alive and passing along traditions to the younger generation. This is a very appropriate and amazing Commencement speaker for Tulane.

echo disappointment.

I think it’s an awesome choice - very appropriate considering it’s NOLA. Dh is begging to go to graduation now even though our D is only a freshman. I’m very happy it’s not a political person.

Pretty cool! http://tulane.edu/news/releases/pr_040414.cfm</a>
Drew Brees and Dr. Michael White to receive President’s Medal at Graduation!

Once he begins speaking, there will be no disappointment. Wynton is a genius, and gifted speaker.

I agree idad, and given your son’s musical talent, he must be extremely pleased.
