Graduation Speeches

anyone speaking at their high school graduations? how are your speakers picked?

we have 4 senior speakers where you go thru an essay-committee reading process, then an interview, then a "final production" where u present ur essay aloud.

i wanna speak at my graduation =D topic undecided

what are yalls gonna be about?

I will likely be speaking at my graduation as the valedictorian of my class. It seems a long way off...but that time will probably fly by.

I might have to, but I might not. There's a four-way tie for valedictorian, so I really dunno how we're gonna work it out....

i'm speaking! i'm senior class president

They do the top 5 people in the class. I wish it were otherwise, because outside of about two people, no one in the top 5 has good public speaking skills. I really, really want to do it, but alas...

Good luck coming up with a good, riveting, non-cliche speech. Y'all can do it! Graduation's in about four months for us here...wow...

we have an all-senior writing competition. The girl and boy who win get to do it.

See, that's how I think they should do it. But alas...okay, I've said that twice now. le sigh...(in honor of the rarely-seen kat1. godspeed).

alas. this speech is also a full paper grade (200 pts)

4 valedictorians at our school also...I want to speak but I don't because nobody every says anything positive about graduation speeches.

i think i might speak.
its a kid vote and popularity vote, and in the last 3 years, it has been the NHS prez (ahem, me :D ) im not calie so idk whats going on, but last years we had

NHS Prez
Elected Teacher
Principal
Some popular kid with a bad haircut and bottom 50% of the class.

Valie didn't speak, what a bummer!

someone should jampack their speech with as many cliches as possible =D

Just as long as you (like every politician on Capitol Hill) close your speech with "and God bless America," you should be okay. ;)

It seems to work for G-Dub...oh wait...I jooos keeeding!

That was for you, 'bree, my sweet, Bush-lovin' amiga!

I think I'm going to rap mine.

oh man im recording his state of the union address for comic relief =D

who needs a sitcom when you can watch that? much jollity for my friends and me will spring forth from it tonight.

Not to start a political war here, but...could not resist :)
And gracias, philntex.

haha i could turn this into a political debate...but i wont =D

Thanks =)

I just wanted to put it out there...it is a good article and seems to take a balanced look. Mind you, if Iraq turns out to be a huge blunder, I'll definitely "concede defeat"...it just helps to view both sides thoughtfully.

He's going to 'outline' social security, but no details just yet...

Time to get the blogging ready.
