Anyone out there valedictorian? What are you planning to say? I need good ideas! I can't think of anything interesting enough to be worthy of taking 5 minutes of the ceremony.

Well you can talk about your determination, what were triggered your will to learn and succeed in life, trying finding some real anecdotes which you think might be of interest to the intended audience. You may also add a quote from a well-known person, but personally I do not recommend it because it has become far too common and besides some audiences find it rather boring. Then do talk about your future and what you plan to achieve after college, and maybe even after. I found that audiences tend to real like people who do know what they will be doing in life.

However I personally think that a speech should come from the heart and you should avoid reading or preparing it in advance... the best speech is the one which do come naturally. If you could be a valedictorian, I guess that it would not be that difficult.

Best of Luck.

Don't talk about yourself. Talk about the class.

The class president talks about the class and the student body president talks about the school, the experience at my school, etc. just fyi. Should I still talk about the class?

I think talk about the class, talk about future, talk about life. Don't concentrate on yourself, it'll sound like bragging!
