Graduation Time limit for Berkeley??????

Hi,

I was just reading some of the informations about the transfer students in EECS major and found the following statement quite surprising

"The College of Engineering recognizes the curricular challenges faced by junior transfer students. If you have been making normal progress .........and 'need an extra semester to graduate, you must petition in advance to do so. The extra semester is not guaranteed.' "

Do i really have to petition for extra semester? Well, what is the time limit? Is it 2 years after the enrollment, as a transfer?

i think eecs is an exception. i once read the scheduling of classes per semester for eecs and it is done with an extra semester in mind. i have friends here who consider themselves to be "super-senior" and I dont think there will be a problem with asking to stay for another semester. Actually, I will also petition to stay for another semester so i can take classes that I have not had the chance tot ake.

Are you both EECS transfer? Just out of curiosity.
