I'm a "senior," class of '06 now, 'cos '05 just graduated today.

It was held at T.D. Waterhouse, which I thought was cool since people like Aerosmith and Britney were sweating on that same stage not long ago.

It was pretty awesome. Lights went out when the last person was called, which was a surprise ending. There was a pyrotechnic show! It scared me to death, since I thought someone was shot when I heard the first "BANG!"

After that, streamers in our school colors fell. Nice effect.

However, considering there are close to 700 people graduating, IT TOOK FOREVER TO GET THROUGH ALL TEN OF THE VALEDICTORY ADDRESSES AND FOR PEOPLE TO WALK ACROSS THE STAGE.

Three entire hours.

Just wondering. What are your schools' graduations like?

We have it outside on the football field, on a stage with a huge white lattice backing that's covered in greenery/large tropical flowers. I like that we have it outside, because from our football field there's a great view of the ocean. The graduates walk the line, which is lined with orchids, and then they all pile onto the bleachers. Valedictorians only have 2 or 3 minutes each to talk, so it doesn't drag on forever.

After everyone receives their diploma, each person grabs a bag of orchids out from under their seat and throws them as the new graduating class is announced. Everyone disperses, and friends and family pile flower leis on them, up to their noses.

Effulgent, what school are you from? I know Lake Mary High is having it at TD waterhouse. However my school's graduation is going to be at the UCF auditorium.

My grad will be in the school gym. 43 graduates, 4 student speakers, (2 co-val, 2 co-sal), senior class video, and a silly string fight. It shouldn't take more than 95 minutes
