hey, does anyone have any wisdom to share regarding uga's grady college &/or pre-public relations major for a current uga freshman? positive, negative or neutral... any advice very much appreciated, please! thanks! :)

Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication is a very esteemed college. Grady sits right up there with Missouri, Columbia, Indiana University, NYU and other high profile journalism schools.

I have heard that the public relations major is a more rigorous major in comparison to other Grady majors, but that’s probably a good thing. A rigorous program is a respected program. I can’t really add much more. Grady hosts the Peabody awards, and the alumni network is very strong. Some would say Grady’s alumni network is even comparable to Terry’s or College of Law’s. It’s an excellent college, and actually, there is currently a search to find a new dean for the school.

All four are excellent candidates from some quick research I did. He/she will definitely help raise the profile of Grady. I think UGA is trying to equipe the university with stronger deans, as Morehead takes over this summer. The College of Education also snubbed a Vanderbilt administrator to head the college. The College of Pharmacy and Terry College of Business are also searching for more deans.

Sorry to run off topic, but all in all, I’d say it’s a great program. I haven’t heard anything bad from students, faculty or alumni.

thank you so much, md1785! i really appreciate it! :)
