I'm going to be a sophomore next year. I would like to know which upperclassmen dorms are the best? I'm currently torn between Gramercy Green and Carlyle Court. Gramercy is hands down the nicest dorm, but its pretty far from campus. (But I heard the walk really isnt that bad honestly)

Carlyle is really close to Campus and right next to Union Square but the room arrangement kinda annoys me. In the rooms, two students will live in the privacy of a single room, while the other two will live in the common room. I really don't like that.

For all you who may have lived in any of these dorms or both, please provide feedback for why you like it there! Please! Thanks!

There’s free shuttle bus service from Gramercy Green…

[NYU > Office of Public Safety > Routes and Schedules](<a href=“University Transportation”>University Transportation)

My kids have said the buses can be crowded though…

D lived in Carlyle this year and it was great. Just make sure you select the side that offers more privacy. I think that is the B side. The location was amazing and it was really a nice dorm.

I can’t remember if the bedroom side is A or B in carlyle - which is sad because I lived there last year.

Anyway, do not go with carlyle if you cannot get the bedroom side - living in the living room area can be a huge frustration for a lot of people.

Ditto what NYU2013 said. I didn’t live in Carlyle but my friends that did got the living room and hated it. The best they could do was set up those thick paper screens, but you’re really at the mercy of your suitemates in terms of noise.
