<p>Technically acceptable. but it would be better if you use it this way, “although they didn’t approve it at first, they considered it.” </p>
<p>so “although” in this case plays as a subordinating conjunction which connects two independent clauses (they didn’t approve it at first & they considered it) because otherwise it’ll be a comma splice. Am I correct? </p>
