Grammar question about comparisons

When do I use "than me" or "than I"?

I'm under the impression that I use "than me" when the comparing verb is copular. For example, "He is taller than me."

Do I use "than I" when the comparing verb is not copular? For example, "He runs faster than I"?

I'm probably wrong on this, but can someone help me out?! Thanks!

Try this site: <a href="http://andromeda.rutgers.edu/%7Ejlynch/Writing/t.html%5B/url%5D">http://andromeda.rutgers.edu/~jlynch/Writing/t.html</a><br>
It has a pretty good explanation.

Thanks for the website. Can I assume that the SAT won't be picky about this grammar topic then?

Bump

Just trying to get some second opinions. Is the SAT picky about "than me/than I" stuff? Thanks

I'd say so; when I took it, I went for the stuffiest answers they gave (which tense, connotation, all that horribly dry stuff) and it worked for an 800.
