Grammar question PLEASE HELP!

Should it be...
"Furthermore, John is not lacking in intelligence either"
or
"However, John is not lacking in intelligence either"

PLEASE AND THANK YOU

“However, John is not lacking in intelligence either” I think, though it’s hard to be sure without reading it in context.

Either could be correct in context, more information is needed.

I basically agree with Dionysus58. “However” sounds better but I cannot give an accurate answer unless I know the surrounding content

Okayy, here is the context (this is for my essay): __, located in , provides a lovely rural environment and amiable weather. The boisterous setting of the city has never thrilled me and location includes none of the distractions typically present there. (However?), ______ is not lacking in academics either

I know this is an ACT forum but nobody is answering my grammar questions :[ I censored the name of the University just in case they perform a plagarism check :]

I was thinking ‘However’ but since I provided little information, I want to put “Furthermore”

Furthermore is correct in the context given.

^Yup, there is no change in the authors meaning, he is simply adding to what he had previously stated.
