<p>Why is there a need for 'does'?</p>

<p>The parallelism in this case should be "present" with "stir" or "should present" with "should stir". Why?</p>

<p>The parallelism in this case should be "cycle" with "run" or "to cycle" with "to run". Why?</p>

<p>For 2 and 3, I am not so sure, but for 2, I think you don’t need to put should for both. Let’s say, for example, I should sell my books and buy text books. You don’t have to say I should sell my books and should buy text books. Same for 3, To cycle and run seems fine.</p>

<p>As long as the sentence makes logical sense without repetition, you don’t need to repeat yourself.</p>

<p>In example 1, you need to repeat yourself. Otherwise, the sentence changes meaning.</p>
