<p>Why is this sentence no errror? I thought that (as marking) should have been replaced by (the mark of).</p>

<p>Again, not sure why this sentence is no error. I picked (one of our most) because I thought that it should have been, (one of the most).</p>

<p>Hey there again! The first one is definitely correct. Think of it like this. “… a novel whose publication has been viewed as [being] the beginning of the Harlem Renaissance.” Being, even though it’s a verb, is grammatically correct. The same goes for “marking”</p>

<p>The second one is correct too. The word “our” is referring to “you and me.” Therefore, it’s using the first person, so using “our” is correct.</p>

<p>The third one is, well, correct too. It’s not saying “subjects as diverse as” blah blah blah. It’s saying "diverse subjects [SUCH] as blah blah blah. It’s saying that the subjects are diverse and then gives examples of diverse subjects. So it should be “…diverse subjects as…”</p>
