<p>never heard of grammatix. i recommend barron's, princeton review, or collegeboard. Kaplan is good to start with for a beginner.</p>

<p>I haven't used GR for the writing MCs. It could very well be good. Really, the basis for writing MC is just to learn a few rules and practice them on tests many times. Before you know it, you will be getting 49/49 easy. Most sources are reliable, all they do is tell you the rules. There are really no tricks other than just common sense. Its practice and review of questions that gets you the 800, not really the source.</p>
<p>Now for practice: always use CB questions. I have never used any other source, not for practice.</p>
<p>I don't know if it will ever happen to me, but what if I run out of CB questions?</p>

There are three editions to the Red Book, REAL SATs, ~ 14 Tests
The Blue Book ~ 8 Tests
Online Course ~ 6 Tests
Released Prep Packet Tests ~ 2 Tests
QASs - around 7</p>
<p>Thats 37 tests, enough for even the most voracious tester</p>
<p>Note: The number of tests/Questions do not matter. I have seen people ask, 'how many tests will it take to raise my score x points'. It can take even one test if you do it right. Taking one test, analyzing right/wrong/guessed answers, feeling for pattern and content, is much more productive than whizzing through 37 tests rarely checking why you have plateau scores.
