The Grammys are on. Anyone watching? Single Ladies by Beyonce already won song of the year. Are you kidding me? It beat out Poker Face and Use Somebody. What a joke.

This American Idiot musical is stupid too

I thought that was interesting. Although the concept seems kind of stupid, I almost want to see it to see what it turns into.

Single Ladies was a repetitive and overplayed song. They could have made a better pick

Use Somebody is just annoying…
Single Ladies isn’t bad, but I think Poker Face should’ve won.

I see Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix won Best Alternative Album. I approve. That’s really the only award I really cared about…

We play Phoenix all the time on my college radio show. Awesome.

Grammys SUCK.

If they were actually legit, no popular song would ever be nominated.

Well, no song would ever be nominated. Why? Because they are simply an attempt by industry officials to enforce boundaries in our subjective value judgments!

(I don’t really believe that, but it is rather fun to say.)

ugh, i HATE single ladies. i have no idea what people like about it. & use somebody is hella annoying pokerface definitely should have won.

Did not watch. Will not watch.

It is filling up my news feed on facebook though. Apparently MGMT did not win the Best New Artist Award. Total BS.

“Jesus Is Love” by Heather Headley Featuring Smokie Norful did NOT win Best Gospel Performance!?!?!?!

■■■.

In my opinion, every song mentioned in this thread is garbage. That’s the problem with giving awards for work that has nothing but subjective worth.

^Is there any work that has more than subjective worth?

Yeah, “Single Ladies” should not have won, that song is basically noise unless you make a parody of it. Of all the choices for Song of the Year, “Pokerface” should have won IMO. Black Eye Peas had a good night, awards-wise I mean (Fegie looked hot! :D-random)

Jay-Z was hilarious watching Jamie Foxx & T-Pain perform “Blame It,” who hates T-Pain so much lol.

Colbert owns and I’m glad he won a Grammy :)

I can’t believe USE SOMEBODY won for best record. What an extremely irritating song. More irritating than Bad Romance.

WAIT.

Single Ladies got Song of the Year? That’s a “songwriting” award…

^^Yeah, I hate “Use Somebody,” it is sooooo annoying.

^Yeah, it won. I think Beyonce claims that she writes her own songs, but yeah she most likely doesn’t do that all too often. The award was accepted on her behalf while she prepped to perform later on in the show. 3 men accepted the award, and i’m guessing they basically did everything but sing the tune lol

I’m not annoyed with Use Somebody. I guess because I rarely ever listen to popular music. I did much more in high school when I actually had a car to play the radio station.

Is Record of the Year the best award? Or is that Album of the Year?

Single Ladies would be nothing without the music video.

If Taylor Swift didn’t exist, I’d undoubtedly be watching the Grammies tonight. Too bad her cheesy lyrics about wearing t-shirts and being on the bleachers have been overplayed to death and viewed as OMG THE GREATEST LYRICS EVER!!

No thank you.

I think Taylor Swift is adorable. And she’s a positive role model for girls. I bet so many girls could relate to “You Belong with Me.” And she’s not into exploiting her sexual side.

I think we need her to counter Lady Gaga’s over-sexualized lyrics and music videos.
