Grand Valley State

What do you all know about this school? I know that it isn't at the top of the prestige category, but from what you know, is it a good institution? I am in state, and the tuition is very reasonable, and I think I could get some merit scholarship money from them. I am looking to major in some sort of Engineering, but I don't know about their engineering programs. Right now I am going to apply to Umich, MSU, and Northwestern, but would like to apply to maybe 1 or 2 more schools.

Thanks!

theyre a good school, up and coming in the state of michigan. their academics are on par with michigan state, or at least pretty close. its in allendale, and theres not a ton to do around campus, but grand rapids is about 25 minutes away. the campus is really nice and is smaller than you would expect a 20,000 student school to be. if you want to know more about engineering, my mom probably knows if its good or bad because she works there.

GVSU would be a very nice safety school option in addition to MSU on your list, and will likely be very affordable. Really a solid school with a reputation that has grown the past few years and is becoming the #3 option in-state behind UM and MSU.

Someone very recently asked about GVSU--it might be worth doing a search. They didn't get a huge response, but there was some worthwhile information given.

Like bosox said, it's an up and comer here.

alright, I will check it out. I would still like some feedback here as well. =) Thanks for the responses so far.
