yeah vistany, i was looking at the 2 bedroom, 4 people. I would love a 4 bed, 4 person, but honestly, it's not worth the price to me. I adore the people I live with and I don't mind sharing a room or having a roommate so we're looking at the 2 bed/4 person.

they gave us the same quote vistany, but I just rounded it to $500 lol. About how much is your daughter paying in extra utilities john ross?

John Ross: we had the same problem: $68/person for the first month utilities. One of our parents called up the power company and demanded a reason why it was so high. Apparently, they were reading the meter wrong, so our payment the first round was $50/person (not that much cheaper, really), $35 for last month. Maybe you should step in and call the power company.

Dominion Power implemented an 18% rate increase in July of 2008. Monthly electric bills for apartments at the GrandMarc vary widely from one apartment to another.

GrandMarc's rates for a two bedroom, four person unit are $485 to $490 per person, exclusive of the electric bill. Parking is $85 per month per space in the parking garage.

GrandMarc's rates for their four bedroom, four person apartments are in line with what John Ross stated.

GrandMarc's present tenants have until December 1st to indicate whether or not they plan to return/renew their lease. Until GrandMarc hears from their current renters, they don't know how many units of various types will be available for lease to new renters.

Folks who sign up before December 1st are being placed on a Waiting List (there's that term again). As I understand it, the Wait List for the two bedroom, four person units has reached a point where there's no good assurance that aspiring applicants will be offered their desired accommodation.

Shoe, do you walk to the E-School, or do you catch a bus to Grounds? If you go by bus, what's the bus line and where do you get on the bus in the Corner area?

Vistany, this is pretty common in apartment buildings. The elevation, number of windows (and how efficient those windows are) and the rooms around the unit probably affect the temperature and how well heating/cooling is retained in the buildings in question.

I walk to the e-school. It takes us about 15min to get there. There's a trolley back, but I've used it twice the entire year so far. The walk is kind of bad, but it's a trade off for living on the Corner. My class in the new Comm school is less than 10min.

Thanks, Shoe. That's about what I had estimated. Doable, but not much fun on rainy days like today.

Vistany, all of what Dean J said plus differences in the usage habits of the apartment's occupants determine the total monthly electric expense for each unit.
