Grant Permissions?

I just recently became aware of the term "grant permissions", and I was wondering if this is mandatory? I heard it is not mandatory, but does that mean that I still get my financial aid through checks if i don't give them permission to automatically pay for my fees?

Thanks!

Bump! anybody know anything about this?

“Grant Permission To Use Your Financial Aid To Pay UCSC Charges: Your financial
aid will automatically pay UCSC tuition, mandatory fees, and room and board charges. However, UCSC is required to obtain your permission to use your financial aid to pay other miscellaneous UCSC charges such as health center charges, course fees or lab fees.”

There you go. Your FinAid goes directly towards big chunks of cost- tuition, room and board, etc. The only thing they need your permission for is the other stuff. If you’re expecting to get a hefty chunk for tuition and what not, you wont be receiving that. I would imagine they send you a physical check for the small things if you chose not to give them permission. You could always call Financial Aid and have them clarify. Hope that helped!
