Graphic Design Study Advice

I am undecided between a BFA Graphic Design program at New Mexico's www.santafeuniversity.com, and a Bachelor of Art and Design(3D Animation and Visual Effects) degree at the Aukland, NZ based Leading Design Courses | Media Design School New Zealand. Without paying any consideration to the geography of these institutions, which of these two courses would seem to click with the market in the coming years?

They are very different disciplines. Pursue that one that interests and inspires you the most.

My son is also interested in both of those fields and is looking at colleges that offer both programs where you do not have to declare your major the first year, and you could take classes in both before you make up your mind or major/minor in both. Supposedly, from what I’ve heard, there will be a great demand in the job market for both in the future.

CareerMom66: Could you share what schools your son is looking at?

Two I know of that offer both animation and graphic design are Philadelphia University and Monmouth University. My son also looked at Temple and Kutztown. They don’t offer animation as majors, but they have strong graphic design programs, or so I’m told. We also might look at Drexel. Check out their Westphal College, which offers graphic design, animation, game production and a lot more.
