I found this graphics card for a good deal at CompUSA:
ATI Radeon 9550 256MB

and I might get Medieval II:Total War for PC. I heard it has some tough graphics demands. Would the card mentioned above be able to handle it? I know it would in terms of memory (minimum specs are 128mb), BUT I read that the game requires special pixel shader features to work, which I don't know much about. My computer matches or exceeds the other requirements, but it doesn't have a graphics card.

I have pci actually. I found this deal for half off. The card usually goes for $100 and I could get it for $50. It sounds good to me, I don't care about having a top of the line card. I guess I'm a casual gamer, and I don't have a graphics card in my pc at all so I want to get something that will at least play the game. My old games (mainly counterstrike source) don't work on my computer either so I also want it to play that.

Don't hate on integrated graphics...lol. I had to play cs and dod:source at one point on my integrated graphics card. Suffice to say, those couple of weeks were a gaming nightmare.

so ... did you just contradict yourself or what?
my integrated card cant even play rakion! they REQUIRE either ati or nvidia, its not like my card memory doesnt meet the other requirements

What I meant was, if he had no other choice but to use integrated graphics, whatever. But if he wants to upgrade, which is what it looks like, more power to him. No contradicting going on here.

if you're running on pci, you're probably not going to find a better card than the 9550. the card's alright, but dont expect it to run newer games.

i got the card, and it runs Counter-strike perfectly, the Medieval II demo moderately well.

I didn't find the demo boring at all, it's a challenge sure, but I play chess online so I really like it. It feels like playing chess on a massive scale, and involves similar tactics.
