What do you think about Graphing Calculator and their ability to store data in them? For example, you can go into programs and type in a lot of information ..like formulas and other information. How do you use the graphing calculator to your advantage??

LOL, I think math teacher consider it cheating if we put in formulas into our graphing calculators, but they never check..so everyone at my school does it anyways...plus if they do clear it...you can always archive it!!^_^

My 10th grade math teacher (Alg II/Trig) gave us programs to use on our calcs to help us on tests and stuff. He had one that could simplify any radical, one that would draw any angle (radians or degrees), a slope one that would also draw the graph if you wanted (I modified it), and then I wrote one for quadratics, and he copied it so the whole class could have it.

He made sure we knew all the tricks.

Our chemistry teacher wouldn't let us use graphing calcs - because she knew that we'd just store info and she didn't want to go through the trouble of checking them.

Same with my chem teacher. He made us use his crappy calcuators, which were totally useless..when trying to figure out molarity..and molality..and pH and stuff.

Graphing calculators make you lazy if you become dependant on them. I have a Ti89, and it was a serious case of willpower to not use it unnecessarily.

This past year, all the Chemistry 1 students at my school programmed the monotomic and polyatomic ions into their calculators. When the teacher found out about it, she was ****ED. haha
