I knew that it would be the perfect school for me.

I received a scholarship to West Chester. Full Tuition, renewable for four years.

my family has basically no money

my parents are still trying to repay loans from when my two brothers went to college.

, my mom wants me to go there (West Chester)) and I have to go to the college that offers me the most money.

I’m going scholarship hunting like crazy though so I can try to get a lot of money for Penn State.

Help? Comforting words? Advice? Anything?*

From those phrases (IF THEY ARE TRUE), it’s not hard to figure out roughly what is going on.

It’s highly doubtful that you can get private scholarships to get PSU to cost anywhere close to West Chester. You’d have to get about $15k per year in private scholarships, and that’s not likely since private scholarships are usually ONLY for frosh year and they’re usually for small amounts.

Thank you all for commenting on this post. In case you were wondering, I did decide on West Chester University and I’m so excited. As someone on here said (I forget who it was…sorry!), my experiences will be what I make of it. And if I really do hate it, I can always transfer. I don’t think I will though :)

I know your mother/parents are grateful that you made that choice. We so want to give our children what they want, and some of us over extend ourselves doing so. I congratulate you in catching that it was a big deal to your parents, and I think you’ve made their next few years a lot easier. Big hug, and kudos to you, as I know that you really preferred the other choice.

Thanks too for letting us know your decision. There are so many threads that I read but never hear what happened at the end…it is nice to know what you decided. If you think about it, update us again after your 1st semester to tell us how it went.
