<p>that being said, don't go overboard. one extra shouldn't kill you.</p>

<p>It depends on the college. Some do not accept extra reccs. E-mail the adcoms and ask.</p>

<p>The only reason to send an extra recc is if it will truly add additional info not included in the other ones. Yet another recc saying, "He's a great student," isn't likely to help.</p>

<p>If the teacher advised you in an organization and therefore can describe first hand information about leadership and other characterstics of you that the other teachers can't, that would be reason to include such a recc.</p>
