GRE Department Codes

I took the GRE in late October. At the end of my test I sent my scores to several scores, and I included department codes.

I later found out that those schools don't require department codes. Is it possible that those schools still received it? I have read that some schools will still get the scores (Yale). For me, I am talking about UCSB, Caltech, and Stanford.

I emailed their admissions office, but no response during this winter break. Can anyone clarify this?

Also, how do we know if institutions receive scores by CD-rom?

Is two weeks enough time to order additional score reports?

Thanks

You may not need to worry. I made the same mistake where I designated department codes for schools that didn’t require it. All of my score reports were received and passed to the right people. Hopefully it will be the same for you.

I just took the GRE, and as I remember it, you HAD to enter the departmental codes. I knew that one of my schools didn’t require it, but I remember I had no choice but to chose one of the department codes.

Anyway “not required” is not the same as “absolutely do not include”, so I’m sure we’ll be fine.
