GRE exam

For those of you who intend to go to grad school right after undergrad, when you think is the best time to take the GRE. Is it kind of like SATs? i.e. junior year and then senior year again. Do most people take it multiple time?

From what I've heard, yes, junior year is a good time to take it. I plan to take it sometime this year (my junior year). I've kinda been slacking, so I haven't started studying yet.

i'm actually taking it next week from today. and yes, it's usually taken during the summer time in b/w junior and senior year. it's computer adaptive, which means it's shorter than the paper-based exam, and you can also take it whenever you want.

i don't know if it's going to be good news for you, but they're removing the analogies and will place less emphasis on knowledge of vocabularly starting from next year. also, the test will be extended by an additional hour or two, which sucks.

search in the graduate school forum. it has a lot of threads about the gre, and a lot of good info on preparing for grad school.
