GRE Practice Test

I'm planning on studying all summer for the GRE -- I thought it would be neat to take a before/after Test -- so I did the practice test in the free online booklet from ETS. Are the scores gotten from these indicative of what one would get on a real test?

Almost all the questions I missed were in the Antonym section because I didn't know the definitions.

When people study these word lists, such as Barron's 5000 -- what is the expected result? I have the time this summer to learn that many words -- but I don't want to do it if I'm only going to see one or two words from the list on the actual GRE.

Thank you,

I think Barron’s is excessive. I got a 780V and don’t know half the words in it.
My ETS practice scores were pretty close to the real thing.

ETS: 620Q 760V (average)
REAL: 610Q 780V

BUT- the computer simulation they send you is a joke-
800Q 800V (I wish that were real.)
