GRE question [strategy]

Hey guys,

I recently just took my GREs over the summer, and scored a little bit below my expectation. However, I just received something in the mail from ETS allowing me to retake my verbal section free of charge as something went amiss in terms of my allotment of questions in the verbal.

My issue is that I found it difficult to complete all of the questions within the timelimit I was given when taking the test. So around questions 20-30 when I realized there was a good chance that I wouldn't be able to finish the test, I began rushing myself attempting to find a balance between getting questions right, and completing the verbal section.

I am aware that the GRE is computer adaptive according to your performance. My question is:

Does it hurt my score adversely by not completing the test- but say, score 18 for 22 up to my last question completed?

Should I focus on getting the first 5-7 questions right and then attempting to finish the rest of the exam?

Is it more advantageous to just answer as many correctly as possible while disregarding how many I answer?

thanks in advance

I had similar problems when i took the general gre. The timing was a bit nerve wracking and I was not comfortable with the adaptive style test so I had no idea how to apportion my mental efforts over the course of the test.
