So I am going to be taking the GRE on June 10th and I guess the day I take it I can choose a handful of schools to have my scores sent to (for free!). I was wondering if this would be too early to have them sent to the schools, since I won't be submitting any other application materials until October or November at the earliest. It would be nice to save the $$ and send them that day but I'm not sure if schools just keep everything they receive on file or not....thanks for the help!

It is most definitely not too early to send your scores. They will be held by the Graduate Schools (the administrative offices at each university, not the departments) until you formally apply.

Best of luck on the GRE!

thanks for the answer!
